The rules that decide your landed cost
We check each of these against your invoice before your cargo arrives, so nothing is held at the border.
We pre-clear only. Documents must reach us at least 12 hours before your cargo arrives, or clearance will be late.
Charged on imports at the border, on the cost, insurance and freight value plus any duty.
GST import relief applies only to goods arriving by air or post with a total value up to S$400. Sea cargo pays GST from the first dollar.
Importers need one, linked to their UEN. With Janio as Importer of Record, you don't.

Check my landed costQuestions we get every week
Which shipments do you clear?
Air freight at Changi and sea freight at PSA, general cargo only. We don't clear courier parcels.
When do you need my documents?
At least 12 hours before your cargo arrives. For short flights, send them when you book the flight. We pre-clear only, so late documents mean late release.
Do I need a Customs Account?
Yes, if you import under your own name. It is linked to your UEN. With Janio as Importer of Record, you don't.
How much GST will I pay?
9% of the cost, insurance and freight value plus any duty.
Does the S$400 relief apply to my shipment?
Only if it arrives by air or post with a total value up to S$400. Sea cargo pays GST whatever its value.
Can you store my goods in a free trade zone?
Yes, in Singapore. GST is paid only when goods leave storage into Singapore.
Do you handle permits from other agencies?
No. We clear general cargo that needs only a customs permit.
Do you deliver to homes?
No. Business addresses only.
